John C. Coonley School, built in 1893, is a small neighborhood school located in the North Center community where kids love to learn.

Coonley serves students in grades PreK through 8. We specialize in meeting the needs of the neighborhood, low incidence special needs and gifted students.

In addition, Coonley School serves as a city-wide site for low-incidence special education programs.  There are two Learning Disability Resource teachers who service students within their grade level classrooms providing a Least Restrictive Environment.  There is one Pre-K Early Childhood Special Education program and Pre-K Autism program, a State Blended Pre-K program, and a primary, intermediate and upper cognitive disabilities program.
